Top 10 Tips To Increase Facebook Fans & Improve Your Page.

Facebook is one of the best social networking sites on the web, with the ability to interact, engage and find new customers for FREE. Used correctly, the power of Facebook and Fan Pages can be immense, turning fans into paying customers who will virally spread the word on the good work you do. Once you have created a Fan page, the next thing to do it set it up so that you draw in as many fans as possible and keep them there.

1. Invite Potential Fans To Your Page
Many of your fans can be found outside of Facebook so making them aware you have a page is essential. Send out an email to your current and potential clients, customers and fans letting them know they can keep up with you on Facebook. Sounds like an obvious one, but this is something that is often missed. Best of all, it’s easy and free to do, especially if you are running low on content to contact your mailing list, this is a quick and simple reason to contact them and stay current.

2. Using Facebook As a Fan Page
A handy way to generate traffic to your page is to use Facebook as your Fan page and comment, like on other pages with common interests to yours, directing fans back to you. To do this, you select the option given on top-right side of your Facebook Page, ‘use Facebook as ‘your-fan-page-name”, and once you do this, you can start using Facebook as your Facebook Fan Page. Like other pages, and get interactive so when people click on your name, it will direct back to your page and not your personal profile.

3. Post Links On All Your Social Media Sites
If you have other social media presence, like Myspace, Twitter or LinkedIn, post links inviting your contacts and friends to ‘Become a Fan’ or ‘Like’ your new Facebook page.

4. Get fans by mentioning Your Facebook Page on Your Personal Profile
Sometimes people don’t like to mix business and pleasure but posting your Fan Page link on your profile page is a good way to have your friends and family support what you do, and also easily refer you onto others who may like or need you. Be sure to also add this in your ‘About Me’ section, as well as making yourself a ‘featured page owner’ which will show the page on your personal profile. (go to ‘Edit Page’ => ‘Featured’ to select the featured page owners. The selected will also be displayed on the left hand side of the fan page)

5. Like Exchanging with Admin of Other Pages
The pages YOUR page likes will show up on the right hand side of your page and will display a random 5 at a time unless you set a preference. These are in key position as people on your page will click on them, directing traffic to other pages and so ‘LIKE’ exchanging is a great tactic. Search Facebook Fan Pages in your niche which have a lot of fans and then contact their admins suggesting that you will post a like of theirs on your Facebook Page in exchange for doing the same on their page. (go to ‘Edit Page’ => ‘Featured’ to select the featured pages)

6. Get Fans By Tagging Pages In Your Updates
A very easy tip you should be doing all the time- Whenever you talk about your fan page, business, brand etc, direct people direct to your page tagging the page in the update. This update will show on your page as well as the page you tag, so by tagging another page, their pans will also see your update. For example: Great interview with @Beyoncé will show up on the page you tag, hence showing to Beyoncé’s fans on her page.

7Get fans by Running Contests on your Blog/Website

Contests and giveaways are a great way to get more fans and traffic as you have something that may appeal to a wider set of people who normally would not have visited your page. Concert tickets for example are ideal as fans of artists are always seeking to get their hands on VIP tickets or freebies. So directing traffic to your page with content hidden unless they ‘LIKE’ the it is a good way to engage with new visitors who will enter and have a look around at what else you have on offer.

8. Regularly Creating and Posting Creative and Targeted Content

Content, content and more content. Keep new fans and existing ones engaged with frequent and targeted content. The more you post, the more they will see your updates in their news feeds and if they like your updates, they will share. If your fans share your posts, those posts would appear on their walls with a ‘Via your-fan-page-name’ and seeing that, your fan’s friend might also become a fan of your page

9. Mentioning to Follow Me On Facebook Everywhere

Always include a clickable link at the end of your post when commenting on other peoples pages or photos, like a signature as such, requesting the readers to become a Fan of your page on Facebook.

10. Embedding a Facebook Fan Box on Your Blog/Website

Embedding a Facebook fan box on your website/blog is definitely the first thing to do. This will increase the number of fans. It is an app of Facebook and you can get its code from your Facebook account, and then all you have to do is to insert it in your Website/Blog
